Hindi Utsav 2017 at IGCIC

The Hindi festival, Hindi Utsav is an International Conference on the Hindi language marked on Sunday afternoon at 2.00 p.m at the IGCIC in Phoenix by the launch books and an audio CD in bhojpuri by the Prime Minister. Awards were also given to the winners of several Hindi competitions.

The Prime Minister of Mauritius and various eminent personalities from India grace their presence on the function.

 The Head of Government is pleased that Mauritius is hosting the 11th edition of the World Conference on the Hindi Language in August 2018.

The function started at 14:00 with the welcoming of guests followed by lighting of lamps. Their was the introduction of International Hindi Conference 2017 by Mr. Divakar Bhatt Sampadak which gave a glimpse about Adharshila, the newly published Magazine.

Afterwards, there was a beautiful poem recitation. Shortly after speech by eminent personalities like Minister in Uttarakhand and Hon. Pravind Jagnath. His message was Hindi, a language that unites and strengthens the ties between India and Mauritius.

The Prime Minister has also inaugurated a Bhojpuri book by the Bhojpuri section of Mahatma Gandhi Institute.

Around 13.30 there was a price giving ceremony which students from primary to tertiary level who have got the first, second and third runner up was awarded. Also, the best students of HSC year 2016 in Hindi Language was awarded. Not only students were awarded but great local writers were given recognition for their love of Hindi literature. Then, there was launching of book of local writers like Mahess Ramjeeawon, Jayan Sadasing and among others.

The function end up around 17:30.
